Job Purpose

The Academy Stream Coordinator is a certified teaching position responsible for delivering specialized academy programming while supporting student learning and engagement across Kindergarten to Grade 12 programming within the Kitaskinaw Education Authority (KEA). This role combines instructional teaching responsibilities with program coordination, ensuring academy streams complement classroom learning while promoting student skill development, wellness, creativity, and leadership. The Academy Stream Coordinator works closely with school leadership, teachers, instructors, students, families, and community partners to implement academy programming that aligns with Alberta Education curriculum standards and KEA educational priorities.

Education, Experience and Requirements

• Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) or equivalent.
• Valid Alberta Permanent Professional Teaching Certificate (Required)
• Clear Criminal Record Check with the Vulnerability Sector and Child Welfare intervention Check is required.
• First Aid/ CPR Certification
• Coaching certifications (NCCP or sport-specific)
• Outdoor education or land-based programming training
• Arts or recreation leadership training
• Minimum two (2) years of teaching experience
• Experience teaching within K-12 educational settings .
• Experience supporting extracurricular, experiential, or academy-style programming is considered an asset.
• Experience coaching or facilitating sports, arts, or experiential programs
• Experience supporting high school credit programming
• Experience working with Indigenous students and communities
• Experience coordinating programs or student activities

Working Conditions

The Academy Coordinator will work in an office environment and is required to work 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Monday to Friday. While adhering to the Enoch Cree Nation Human Resources Policy & Procedure Manual.
