ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT – CLOSED (INTERNAL) COMPETITION

Job Purpose

The Administrative Assistant provides administrative support to the Kehteyayak Manager and Program. Under the guidance and authority of the Enoch Kehteyayak Manager, the Administrative Assistant is responsible for report and document preparation; meeting planning; scheduling of meetings, along with filing; and administration duties. The Administrative Assistant ensures the kehte-ayak Department is functioning efficiently and all related office matters are handled promptly.

Education, Experience and Requirements

• Related post-secondary microcomputer business applications are an asset.
• Must have access Excess 1 and 2, also experience using software.
• A minimum of 2 years’ experience in an office setting is required.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Software Programs, such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint and MS Outlook to compile correspondence of letters, memorandums, presentations, reports, etc.
• Have a high standard of ethics and confidentiality to handle sensitive information.
• Must be open and willing for recommended training if necessary for job requirements by attending training programs, workshops, information sessions, and conferences when available.
• Cree Language is an asset.
• Assists with maintaining Enoch Cree Nation files, including filing of employee information within the conventions of the Freedom of Information and Privacy Act (FIOP) and other related legislation.
• Have a clear Criminal Record Check.
• Excellent computer skills; knowledge in Microsoft Software programs such as Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Access 1 and 2, PowerPoint, and Publisher.
• Ability to multi-task.
• High level of professionalism and maintains Enoch Cree Nations confidentiality.
• Excellent time and project management skills.
• Excellent organizational and prioritization skills.
• Excellent communication skills-verbal and written.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Able to meet multiple deadlines with constantly changing priorities.
• Superior tact, diplomacy and ability to deal with politically sensitive issues.
• Ability to work effectively and efficiently both independently and as part of the dedicated ECN Administration Team.

Working Conditions

Will be required to work at the kehte-ayak building the 8-hour shift in accordance with the ECN Human Resource Policy & Procedure Manual – Section C.
