Job Purpose
The Benefits Assistant supports the Human Resources team with basic day-to-day benefits tasks such as filing, data entry, and keeping employee records organized and up to date. This position helps prepare benefit forms, and forwards requests to the appropriate HR staff while maintaining confidentiality.Education, Experience and Requirements
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
• Effective communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Post-secondary education in office administration, business, or a related field is an asset.
• Previous administrative or HR support experience is preferred.
• Experience with employee benefits or insurance processes Is considered an asset.
• Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Word,Excel,Outlook).
Working Conditions
• Standard work schedule: Monday to Friday, 830 – 430 (with a one-hour paid lunch break); flexibility to work evenings/weekends as needed.
• Primary location: Enoch Cree Nation Building (HR Department), with occasional travel to various sites.
• Physical fitness required (ability to walk, climb stairs, lift to 50 lbs, etc.).
• A valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle are required.
• Must sign and adhere to the Enoch Cree Nation Confidentiality Agreement upon hire.
