Job Purpose
The Community Health Worker will provide health prevention education to individuals, families, and groups within Enoch Cree Nation Community. The Community Health Worker will also provide advice and assistance to individuals and groups on all Community Health related matters and to encourage awareness and responsibility in all health care issues.Education, Experience and Requirements
•Community Health Representative Certificate/Nursing Assistant
•High School Diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.)
•Several years of experience in community health education and in working with First Nation Communities
•Certified in Standard First Aid with AED
•Certified in Food & Safety Certification
•Proficient with Microsoft Office Software Programs, such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point and MS Outlook to compile correspondence of letters, memorandums, presentations, reports etc.
•Have high standards of ethics and confidentiality to handle sensitive information.
•Must be open and willing for recommended training if necessary for job requirements by attending training programs, workshops, information sessions, and conferences when available
•Cree language is an asset
•Must be healthy, physically, and mentally fit
•Minimum Class 5 Driver’s License and provide own transportation
•Specific knowledge in the delivery of training, and health education programs
•Knowledge of planning, compiling information and resources in the delivery of workshops and information sessions for ECN Community Members
•Knowledge of suicide prevention
•Knowledge of traditional customs/culture and practices
•Knowledge of communicable diseases
•Environmental health knowledge
•Ability to multi-task
•High level of professionalism and maintains client and departments confidentiality
•Excellent time and project management skills
•Excellent organizational and prioritization skills
•Excellent communication skills-verbal and written
•Strong interpersonal skills
•Able to meet multiple deadlines with constantly changing priorities

•Ability to work effectively and efficiently both independently and as part of the dedicated ECN Health Services Department Team
Working Conditions
Required to work Monday to Friday, 8:30 am – 4:30 pm, at the Enoch Cree Nation Health Centre, may be required to work after hours and/or weekends when required. While adhering to the Enoch Cree Nation Human Resources Policy & Procedure Manual.
