Job Purpose
The purpose of the Ethics Commission is to investigate dishonest or unethical practices by nation employees and elected officials. • Specifically during and prior to election periods. • No Election can take place without an Ethics Commission.Education, Experience and Requirements
• Must be 18 years old and older.
• Need to have knowledge of the Maskekosihk Enoch Cree Nation #440 Election Law.
• Need to have knowledge of Maskekosihk Customary Laws.
• Need to have some knowledge of “natural law” as it pertains to Cree Law, Canadian Law and International Law.
• Need to have some knowledge of “investigation processes”.
• Must have experience resolving issues with conflict resolution techniques.
• Be flexible, and able to work evenings, weekends or anytime when the Enoch Cree Nation is having an Election, Bi-Election or Run-off Election and other issues.
• Need a clean Criminal Record Check and clean Vulnerable Sector Check.
• Experience working in groups.
• Possess good communication skills.
• Must be able to keep all information confidential and have a high level of integrity.
• Need to be able to take direction at times.
• Need to report to Maskekosihk Chief & Council and also Maskekosihk People when requested.
• Need to be able to communicate electronically.
• Experience writing reports and or journalizing.
• Legal, Conflict Resolution, Political Science backgrounds (not required) but an asset.
• Grade 12 (not required) but an asset.
Working Conditions
The Ethics Commission is necessary for as needed basis pertaining to complaints. May require some travel, and work some evenings and weekends. While adhering to the Enoch Cree Nation Human Resources Policy & Procedure Manual.
