Job Purpose
The Administrative Assistant is responsible for providing record keeping and clerical support to the Financial and Student Services Department along with the Kaya Pomeh Administration Staff. The Administrative Assistant maintains accurate student and financial records for easy retrieval by the Kitaskinaw School administration and Kitaskinaw school staff.Education, Experience and Requirements
● Must have a clear criminal and intervention check.
● Sign the Confidentiality Agreement upon being hired.
● Ability to multi-task, and is thorough and pays attention to detail.
● Knowledge of Enoch Cree Nation Community and ECN Members.
● Cree Language is an asset (to communicate with Elder’s, and Community).
● Open communication with students and parents and/or guardians.
● High level of professionalism and maintains student and Kaya Pomeh Adult Education’s confidentiality and Kaya Pomeh Adult Education students confidentiality.
● Excellent time and project management skills.
● Excellent communication skills-verbal and written.
● Excellent organizational and prioritization skills.
● Strong interpersonal skills, and willing to assist others within the Kaya Pomeh Adult Education Staff.
● Able to meet multiple deadlines with constantly changing priorities.
● Superior tact, diplomacy and ability to deal with politically sensitive issues.
● Ability to work effectively and efficiently both independently and as part of the dedicated ECN Kaya Pomeh Adult Education Team.
● Safety and First Aid: Knowledge of safety protocols and procedures to ensure students’ well-being and physical safety in sports and recreational activities, including maintaining first aid and CPR certification.
● Freedom of Information and Privacy Protection Act (FOIP) trained.
● Minimum 2 years’ experience working in a similar position as Administrative Assistant and/or combined with an Administrative Diploma.
● Proficient with Google software.
● Have high standards of ethics and confidentiality to handle sensitive information.
● Must be open and willing for recommended training if necessary for job requirements by attending training programs, workshops, information sessions, and conferences when available.
● Minimum Class 5 Driver’s License and provide own transportation.
Working Conditions
The Kaya Pomeh Adult Education Administrative Assistant will be required to work from Monday to Friday at Enoch Cree Nation Kaya Pomeh Adult Education,t for an 8-hour shift in accordance to the ECN Human Resource Policy & Procedure Manual – Section C.
