Job Purpose
The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) will be an integral part of an Indigenous Led Outreach Team, dedicated to supporting the unhoused population. This position involves providing healthcare services to individuals in various locations throughout the city, including in-shelter work and mobile outreach. Must be dedicated and compassionate as these are essential elements of the service you provide to this population.Education, Experience and Requirements
• Current licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in Alberta.
• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience, preferably in community health or outreach settings.
• Strong understanding and respect for Indigenous cultures, traditions, and values.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and trust with diverse individuals.
• Ability to handle challenging environments and situations with professionalism and empathy.
• Possess the ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a dynamic and occasionally challenging environment.
• Demonstrate strong clinical skills and the capacity to operate autonomously.
• Exhibit excellent organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
• Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector.
• Standard First Aid and CPR.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
Working Conditions
Shelter will operate 24/7, which may require employees to work during evenings, weekends, and holidays. Shift schedules may vary, and flexibility in working hours may be necessary. While adhering to the Enoch Cree Nation Human Resources Policy & Procedure Manual.
