PRIMARY CARE PARAMEDIC/FIREFIGHTER – CLOSED (INTERNAL) COMPETITION

Job Purpose

The Primary Care Paramedic (PCP) / Firefighter plays a dual role in providing emergency medical services and firefighting duties. This position requires a dedicated individual who is prepared to respond to emergency situations in both medical and fire-related contexts. The employee will provide immediate care to individuals in medical emergencies, while also being a vital part of fire suppression, rescue, and other emergency response efforts. This role demands excellent decision-making, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to perform under high-pressure situations.

Education, Experience and Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent; post-secondary education in a related field is an asset.
• At least 2 years of experience working as a paramedic and/or firefighter (or an equivalent combination of training and experience).
• Experience in emergency response operations is highly preferred
• Valid Primary Care Paramedic (PCP) certification and/or license from a recognized authority.
• Firefighter certification (NFPA 1001 or equivalent).
• CPR and First Aid certifications.
• Knowledge of firefighting and emergency medical protocols, equipment, and procedures.
• Strong physical fitness to handle the physical demands of the role.
• Ability to work under high stress, in dangerous and unpredictable environments.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team and demonstrate leadership in high-pressure situations
• Clear Criminal Record Check
• Sign an Oath of Confidentiality

Working Conditions

The Primary Care Paramedic (PCP) / Firefighter will work in rotating shifts, must be available for emergency call outs including evenings and weekends, travel may be required. While adhering to the Enoch Cree Nation Human Resources Policy & Procedure Manual.
