Disaster Services
In the event of an emergency, it always helps to be prepared and to have a plan. Thanks to the hard work of the Enoch Disaster Services team, community members at Enoch Cree Nation can now feel their community is ready in case of an accident or emergency.
The vision of the department has led to a large and important scope of activities. Not only is the Disaster Services getting ready through emergency disaster planning, emergency training, participating in awareness events like Injury Prevention Day and by making sure community members and Elders have the information they need to be safe, but the team is also reaching out to organizations like Alberta Emergency Management Association, RCMP, Fire & Rescue, Animal Control, ECAPP and other communities in the area to align emergency protocols and ensure community partners are all starting from the same place of knowledge. They will be collaborating with the first responders team and the whole community through mock emergency drills throughout the year.
