Arena Operator – OPEN COMPETITION

Job Purpose

Under the direction of the Community Center Manager, the Recreation Operator is primarily responsible for maintaining the ice, building, equipment, recording logs, safety, customer service, cleaning, and assisting in the overall recreation operations.

Education, Experience and Requirements

•Minimum 1-year experience in this field.
•Basic Computer knowledge and skills.
•Ability to use Microsoft Office software to compile data, write reports, etc.
•Mechanical aptitude; experienced with and able to use common equipment in the facility & power tools.
•Ability to drive a Zamboni.
•Communication skills: Able to follow verbal and written directions and give and receive constructive feedback as a team member.
•Customer service skills; work with customers in a positive and respectful manner.
•Able to work well alone and as a team member.
•Able and willing to work flexible shifts, mornings, days, evenings, weekends, and Facility Manager approved overtime.
•Able and willing to take additional training as needed.
•Janitorial knowledge, with the ability to keep a clean and organized facility and grounds.
•WHIMIS, Standard First Aid with AED Certification.
•Level I Arena Operator; open and willing to take Level II training.
•Class 5 Driver’s License and provide own transportation.
•Minimum Grade 10 or equivalent.
•Must have steel toe or composite work boots.
•Must have a clear criminal record check.

Working Conditions

Required to be flexible with shift work as the position requires mornings, days, evenings, and on-call emergency duties, and possible extended work hours, as required, for Community Center operations and special events. While adhering to the Enoch Cree Nation Human Resources Policy & Procedure Manual.
