Job Purpose
The Mental Health Manager will form a collaborative, multi-disciplinary team that practices from a First Nations worldview that recognizes and respects the values, beliefs and customs of individuals, families and the community as well as adhering to best practices current to the field. The position will provide team based, trauma-informed care by creating a culturally safe environment to promote, maintain and/or restore Enoch’s community health and well-being. Mental health services, which includes consultation, intake, assessment, collaborative care planning, education, navigation and connection to other resources, will be delivered using a decolonizing approach, being mindful of client intersectionality and healing journeys to develop a care plan that would be tailored to meet their specific needs. The team’s dedication to promoting mental health awareness and destigmatizing mental illness contributes to creating a community where community members feel valued, understood, and supported on their journey toward wellness.Education, Experience and Requirements
•A master’s degree in clinical social work, psychology or occupational therapy, a bachelor’s degree innursing or related health professional qualifications with a specialization in mental health.
•Minimum 5 years experience in mental health service delivery, preferably on a First Nationscommunity or with Indigenous people.
•Experience will be considered in place of education
•Experience working within the perimeters of the Alberta Mental Health Act
•Additional experience or training in threat/risk assessment and/or trauma response, as well astraining in brief intervention approaches
•Additional training and/or certification in therapeutic modalities specific to adult, youth and/orfamilies (e.g. play therapy, equine therapy, land-based teaching etc.)
•Current practicing registration with the applicable professional governing body in Alberta
•Valid Alberta Driver’s License
•Clear Criminal Record Check
Working Conditions
The Mental Health Manager will work in an office environment and is required to work 8:30am to 4:30pm Monday to Friday. May be required to work evenings and weekends, travel may be required. While adhering to the Enoch Cree Nation Human Resources Policy & Procedure Manual.
