Disaster Services
In the event of an emergency, it always helps to be prepared and to have a plan. Thanks to the hard work of the Enoch Disaster Services team, community members at Enoch Cree Nation can now feel their community is ready in case of an accident or emergency.
The vision of the department has led to a large and important scope of activities. Not only is the Disaster Services getting ready through emergency disaster planning, emergency training, participating in awareness events like Injury Prevention Day and by making sure community members and Elders have the information they need to be safe, but the team is also reaching out to organizations like Alberta Emergency Management Association, RCMP, Fire & Rescue, Animal Control, ECAPP and other communities in the area to align emergency protocols and ensure community partners are all starting from the same place of knowledge. They will be collaborating with the first responders team and the whole community through mock emergency drills throughout the year.

Fire & Rescue Services
Fire and Rescue Services have changed significantly in the early part of 2023. In December 2022, a proposal was presented for the acquisition of a modular trailer for sleeping quarters to allow for 48 hour shifts for rapid response teams. This proposal was shelved in favour of an innovative and resource-ready approach to ensure 24/7 coverage for the Nation. Our team is nearing completion of a complete renovation of an existing, underutilized office space into 3 sleeping dorms. Fire and Rescue Services are committed to rapid response times with personnel always ready and prepared to respond to all calls from the hall anytime of the day.
Our recent achievements include the receipt of a Utility SUV and two Hydraulic Jaws of Life as a donation from Edmonton Fire & Rescue. Starting on Feb 1st, 2023 our team started 48-hour shifts to ensure 24/7 coverage.
Office hours for non-emergency contact: 8am – 4pm
If in need of fire and rescue services, please dial 911 for rapid response from our team.
